ANN ARBOR—From faraway places, friendly faces, imaginary places to helping hands and home sweet home, ” Places to Go and People to See!” guides children and adults of all ages through some of the University of Michigan Museum of Art’s finest treasures.

The self-guided adventure tour through the museum makes five stops where participants are asked to draw, count, find, circle, describe and look closely. From the ” guy in the big wig” to city homes and country homes and drawing shapes seen in abstract works, adventurers will find a useful and fascinating introduction to items from the museum’s permanent collection.

The adventure is free. Just pick up a guide and pencil at the information desk, and embark on a tour of places, animals, people, and colors. The adventure tour can be taken any time the museum is open, which is Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday, noon-5 p.m. Admission to the museum is free.
