Discussion to address needs of corporate libraries

ANN ARBOR—Your local public library isn’t the only one facing the challenge of keeping up with technology and information resources—the same pressures extend to the corporate world. Most medium- to large-scale companies have their own libraries of information related to their business. The issues faced by these “special libraries” will be addressed during a March 29 panel discussion at the University of Michigan.

“Dynamic Systems and Services: Special Needs, Special Libraries” will feature Rita Ayers, manager, Corporate Information Science, DuPont; Eugenie Prime, manager, Corporate Libraries, Hewlett-Packard; and Robert Schwarzwalder, head, Research Library and Information Services, Ford Motor Company. Time will be allowed for audience questions.

The free program will be 3-4:30 p.m. in the U-M Alumni Center Founders Room, East Washington and Fletcher, Ann Arbor. The lecture is part of the 1999-2000 “Library Cultures: Exploring Dimensions of Change” series that is looking at issues affecting public, academic, and special libraries everywhere. The series is co-sponsored by the School of Information and the University Library.
