ANN ARBOR—University of Michigan researchers seek participants for a confidential study that will help researchers better understand factors that influence self-care behaviors of people with HIV and AIDS.

Participants, who will be interviewed anonymously by telephone for 20-30 minutes, must be HIV-positive or have been diagnosed with AIDS. They also must be at least 18 years old and live in southeastern Michigan.

Issues covered in the study will include things participants do in their free time, their reactions to medical care and their childhood experiences.

Interested persons may call the following numbers from July 14 until Oct. 16: 1-800-936-0271 (if calling from outside Washtenaw County) or 936-0271 (if the call is local). Researchers will be available to take calls Monday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
