EVENT: At the Great Lakes Climate Symposium 2012, researchers will present their latest finding on climate change and variability in the region. The symposium is an annual event of the Great Lakes Integrated Sciences and Assessments Center, a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration-funded collaboration between the University of Michigan and Michigan State University.

The free public event will feature a panel of authors from the Midwest Technical Input Team to the National Climate Assessment, which recently completed a series of papers summarizing the most up-to-date knowledge about climate change in the region and anticipated impacts. Panel members are Julie Winkler and Jeff Andresen of MSU, Drew Gronewold of NOAA’s Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory and Stephen Handler of the U.S. Forest Service.
