U-M hosts screening of 'Class Divide' documentary

EVENT: The Institute for Social Research and LSA Screen Arts & Cultures invite the community for a viewing and discussion of "Class Divide," and a conversation with Hyisheem Calier and Yasemin Smallens, who play central roles in the film.

The discussion will be facilitated by author and journalist Peter Moskowitz, who wrote "How to Kill a City: Gentrification, Inequality, and the Fight for the Neighborhood." "Class Divide" chronicles Calier's and Smallens' experiences with gentrification in the West Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan.

The documentary will be screened noon-1:15 p.m., followed by a discussion with central figures from the film. Moskowitz will sign books at 2 p.m.
