EVENT: Third annual Financial Stability Conference
Venmo Square. RobinHood. Apply Pay. Credit Karma. Even if you don't know blockchain from bitcoin, you're probably using financial technology (FinTech), which has rapidly evolved and changed the way in which it's delivered and who delivers it.
The two-day event will bring together private sector innovators, public sector change-makers, academic experts and senior government officials to discuss how the upside potential of financial innovation can be harnessed while reducing the downside risk.
Richard Berner, director of the U.S. Office of Financial Research, and Michael Barr, the Joan and Sanford Weill Dean at the University of Michigan Ford School of Public Policy, will give the conference welcome. The keynote speakers are Federal Reserve Governor Lael Brainard and Gillian Tett, U.S. managing editor of the Financial Times.
Panel discussions will include more than two dozen experts.
