EVENT: Steve Curwood, executive producer of NPR's nationally syndicated Living on Earth program, will give a talk titled: "Getting the Message Out: The Role of Academics in Public Discourse on the Environment."
Curwood, an environmental journalist, will discuss the role academics can and should play to engage in the public discourse around environmental issues, and not just in moments of crisis. He will discuss modes for effective communication with the media and the public, especially in cases where the environmental issues that need to be addressed intersect with important and complex social issues.
