EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT

DATE: 4:30–5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2015

EVENT: “Take 2 Jokes & Call Me in the Morning: Is Laughter the New Aspirin?” will feature a conversation about the intersection of humor and health with University of Michigan alums Mark Cendrowski, award-winning director of “The Big Bang Theory,” and Dr. Randy Brown, pediatric pulmonologist and clinical assistant professor at the U-M School of Public Health.

Cendrowski’s comedic roots stem from growing up in Michigan and his college days at U-M—graduating with a bachelor’s in film/television in 1981. Mark and wife Cindy established U-M’s first comedy club in 1980, and he is a regular visiting professor to Michigan’s screen arts and cultures department’s Directors Workshop.

Brown’s approach to chronic disease medical management, public health education and mentorship has always included a good dose of humor—thanks in large part to his undergraduate days on U-M’s campus with Cendrowski and friends. Brown is also director of asthma programs at the U-M Center for Managing Chronic Disease.

PLACE: Room M1020, School of Public Health Bldg II, 1415 Washington Heights, Ann Arbor
