EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT

DATE: 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., April 18, 2012.

EVENT: Hundreds of University of Michigan undergraduate students will present posters on the projects that they assisted with during the academic year through the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) Spring Symposium.

The event is free and open to the public.

All schools and colleges participate in UROP, thereby providing a wealth of research topics from which a student can choose from.

UROP began in 1989 with 14 student/faculty partnerships. Today, more than 1,200 students and 700 faculty researchers are engaged in research partnerships—the largest such program in the country.

Students spend the entire year (with a minimum of six hours a week) on a research project and an additional 90 minutes attending biweekly seminars. UROP, which is located in the Undergraduate Science Building, is accepting applications for the 2012-13 school year. For more information about the program, visit: www.lsa.umich.edu/urop.
