Combinations of recreational use and cumulative stress for Great Lakes counties. Counties with the highest ranking for recreational use and highest ranking for stress occur primarily along Lake Ontario, the southern shoreline of Lake Erie, and eastern shoreline of Lake Michigan. Lakes Huron and Superior generally have lower stress and recreational use. This information can help guide restoration investments to locations providing greater benefits.
